This is a close up of one of over 50 stone sculptures that can be found decorating the roof of the inside courtyard at Les Invalides, each of them being unique in their detailing.

unique sculptures. is it command to use Stone sculptures on the roof over there?

  It is not usual for it, but we do believe they they are more ornamental and used for ventilation!
