These arches are part of the Louvre Museum with two large sculptures found between the roads, named Marine Guerriere and Marine Marchande, created by Francois Jouffroy.

Underneath the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel you can see the many intricate designs and bas reliefs which cover the arches and ceiling – great to admire as long as you don’t get an aching neck!

This archway can be found in the middle of the Pont de Bir-Hakeim where it connects to the tip of the Ile aux Cygnes island, featuring both detailed sculptures as well as supporting the Metro above.
