In this photo you can see a close up shot of one of the four equestrians statues which are found on the Pont d’Iena bridge, this particular one showing a Roman warrior with his horse, created by the sculptor Louis Joseph Daumas.

This statue which can be found on one of the pillars of the Arc de Triomphe is known as The Departure of the Volunteers of 1792 or for short – Marseillaise. This part of the sculpture which stands at about 13 meters tall shows the Roman goddess of war.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was designed much like the triumphal arches you may have seen from the Roman Empire, with one large arch and surrounded by two smaller ones each side.
